Seeking volunteers for the following roles

26 Sep 2023 by Rimon Franklin

With our new season just around the corner (7 Oct) we are seeking volunteers for the following roles.

-Data entry personnel and coordinator, this will require participants to enter scores into our recording program of a Saturday morning. We would like half a dozen people at a minimum to share the workload. We would like a coordinator that can organise a roster and oversee the data entry.

-Line marking personnel, after being an active member of the club since 1970 our current line marker turns 83 this year and has indicated that this will be his last season. He has asked if we can secure some volunteers for him to train this season and hand over later in the season. This job is typically carried out on a weekday (Wednesday/ Thursday) once the initial lines are drawn at the beginning of the season, they normally only require touching up on a fortnightly basis. Sometimes more regularly due to rain or grass mowing.

-Starting personal and time keeping personal. Training will be provided and we would like to get several people trained to spread the workload over the season. This role ideally needs 4 people every Saturday morning. The Running events can be a bottleneck of a Saturday morning and whilst we have the equipment to run different distance races concurrently, we don’t have the volunteers to operate the equipment.

-Pack up and set up roster. We would like someone that can draw up our parent helper roster. The pack up and setup is spread out across all families that don’t already have a designated role within the club.

-Age Group support personal, each age group will require one designated volunteer every Saturday morning to direct the age group to each activity. Whilst there will be several parents in most age groups we require someone to take charge of each group. This is something that can be shared amongst all members and changed on a weekly basis.

-Social Media volunteers, this role is currently spread out across several people but we are seeking someone that can manage our social media and work with our Stack Team App volunteer to ensure that everyone is kept up to date with what is going on within the club and advising parents of their upcoming duties.

-General committee members. We would like to see some more members on our committee to assist with sponsorship, government grants and the general running of the club.

*We are expecting good numbers this season and with nearly 200 athletes last year, they should be more than enough families to help fulfil these crucial roles and ensure that we can have a smooth and successful season.

If you require any additional information or would like to step into one of these positions please comment below or email kyneton@lavic.com.au

Thank you for your assistance and we look forward to seeing you all on the 7th October at 8:30am
